Grore Images is a photo agency offering a collection of found photographs, founded by Philippe Mairesse in 1991. The photographs in the collection were discovered by chance, one by one, over the course of three decades. They were lying on the street, on sidewalks, in gutters, in parks and gardens, in fields and woods, and in other public spaces. They were neither purchased nor collected from commercial establishments, flea markets, recycling centers, or online marketplaces. They are presented exactly as they were found, except when it was possible to reconstruct a complete image from found fragments. The collection consists exclusively of photographic material: original negatives, positives, photographic prints, transparencies, instant photos, ID photos, and pieces of motion picture film, whether on paper or film stock. No printed materials—whether from newspapers, advertising, or cultural publications—and no digital files. Grore Images constitutes a form of “pre-archaeology” of photography at the dawn of the 21st century. These photographs are available for all types of image use. Many have already been used by graphic artists, designers, individuals, artists, gallery owners, museums, communications agencies, and publishers. Some of our clients include: Théâtre des Amandiers, Editions Théâtrales, Galerie Agnes b., the PACA Regional Contemporary Art Fund, and the magazines *Numéro* and *Musica*. The images are available online. If you reproduce them, we simply ask that you notify us and send us two copies.
